Cage from straight metal wire rods with regular pattern belt, a dome and silver Putti figurine in the upper part. It is mounted on quadrangular silver base with blue opals on bevelled edges, with embossed floral ornament and female masks, on four supports with acanthus leaves ornament. Putti holds in his raised hands a watch in oval case with winding crown on the right side. Blue dial with Arabic numerals for hours’ designation, minutes’ divisions on the internal oval stripe, two hands and inscription: “EMKA/GENEVE”. Canted tree “branch” with two opal inserts and a bird in painted feathers is fixed on the upper base panel. An oval lid is in the center. A bird in bright plumage with yellow breast appears from under the openwork lattice. Cam mechanism with bellows, piccolo pipe and spring drive, with winding hole on the bottom panel and pullout lever on the right side is mounted inside the base. When the movement is winded and activated the oval cover on the upper panel center automatically opens, a miniature bird in painted feathers appears from under it. It turns around (spins) in place, flaps its wings, moves its tail, opens and closes its beak; the musical movement imitates birds’ chirping. At the end of the program, the bird hides under the open work gilded lattice and the lid closes. The winding key with a bird-shaped head is in the set.
