Musical automaton in the form of a half-figure of a young woman – a mother holding an infant – placed on a bed with bronze-colored metal, with cone shaped finials on the headboard and footboard and a mesh base. After the spring is winded and the mechanism activated, a melody plays. The mother, lying with her eyes closed, raises the upper part of her torso and rocks the infant in outstretched arms; her eyes gradually open, she inclines and lifts her head while continuing to rock the baby. Then the tired mother lowers her head onto the pillow and her eyes close, but shortly thereafter she rises again and the action repeats until the spring unwinds or the mechanism is stopped.
Winding key is in the set.
