Automaton in the form of a figure of a laughing clown, sitting on the back of a white chair. The clown is dressed in white cloth shirt, fastened with dark buttons, white silk vest with embroidery, and red satin evening dress with creamy lining with cufflinks in the form of metal flowers. A boutonniere of white flowers is on the lapel. Pants are light yellow with large black check, red and white striped socks, black shiny boots. The head and hands are made of papier-mâché and painted. The clown's makeup is on the face - bright red cheeks and nose, wide eyebrows and open mouth. Brown glass eyes and brown hair. Light felt top hat with a wide satin ribbon is on his head. Silk handkerchief with a blue braid is the clown’s left hand. The movement is fitted between the chair legs; it is closed with black panels. A keyhole and an activating button are on the left side. When the movement is turned on, the clown's figure comes into motion. The shoulders bounce, his right hand rises to the face; the left one is swinging a handkerchief. Left leg quickly moves in time with the shoulders. Upper eyelids tremble, tongue protrudes from the mouth.
Clown’s performance is accompanied by the sounds of a musical movement with a cylinder and a sound comb.
