The painter holds an easel in his left hand and a brush in his right one. He is dressed in long blouse with large patch pockets, wide split yoke, hood and ruffles made of fabric with vertical stripes of red, green and black colors. Large handkerchief is in his pocket. Short pants with golden cuffs and voluminous beret are from the same fabric. The collar and sleeves are made of fabric with metallic thread. White knitted stockings and brown leather shoes with lapels are on his feet. The head and hands are of papier-mache, eyebrows, eyes, eyelashes and brown beard are painted, the hair is black. An easel with the picture of a musician with guitar is mounted to the right of the figure. White parrot with pink beak sits on the rack above the easel. A box with brushes and paints with five tubes on the lid is standing beside the painter’s feet. White papier-mache cat sits in front of the painter. An integrated crown is on the stand top side, start/stop crank is on the rear side. When the motor is turned on, the painter’s figure of and the cat's figure come into motion. The painter's right hand with a brush rises to the picture, the left one rises and falls, the head turns from side to side. The cat twists its head, the parrot turns to the painter.
All actions are accompanied by the sounds of a musical movement with cylinder and sound comb.
