Outstretched arms turn the wide cape into enormous wings. The dancer steps forward in a broad stance with her head thrown back, creating a striking stage pose. Silver-and-gold cape, bright red skirt and pale ivory face and hands evoke the spectacle of 1920s cabaret and revue. A stepped green-onyx base emphasizes the horizontal spread.
