The girl in a heavy winter coat forms a pair with the figure of a child occupied with a glove (2310MC1658/ИЗО). Here the silhouette of the clothing itself becomes the main feature: the dense bronze volume is contrasted with pale carved-ivory details. The calm pose and small scale give the work an intimate quality, while the patination emphasizes the modelling of the costume. Both figures were produced by the Paris firm Etling and were conceived as complementary child genre images.
