Sculptural image of an elderly mustachioed rider in a high fur hat, wearing a shirt with gazyry (cartridge slots), wide trousers, and boots, as he sheathes a saber into its scabbard. By its reins, the Cossack leads a horse captured on the battlefield. The group is mounted on an oval base with a smooth plinth and a massive, textured terrain representing uneven ground, with a discarded banner lying upon it.
