Set upon a high pedestal is a full-length sculptural figure of the writer A.S. Griboyedov. He is depicted standing in contrapposto, wearing a frock coat and a cloak, atop a cylindrical column pedestal mounted on a stepped rectangular base.
The monument was erected in Moscow on Chistye Prudy Boulevard in 1959, marking the 130th anniversary of the writer's death (sculptor: A. A. Manuilov, architect: A. A. Zavarzin).
