The sculptural composition "Ossetian with a Dead Gazelle"
depicts a young Ossetian in a cherkesska (circassian coat), papakha (fur hat),
and ichigi (leather boots) with a cased rifle over his shoulders, mounted on a
horse. A dead gazelle is draped over the saddle, and a
dead pheasant is also fastened to it. The piece is also known under the titles
"Back from the hunt" and "With the spoils.
