On the pedestal (map) inscription in Cyrillic: “Здесь будетъ С.-Петербург, Собственность А.Н. Соколова и Лепилъ А. Опекушинъ”
Peter I is portrayed sitting in the casual posture; it appears that he is communicating the need for Russia to secure access to the sea and build a new capital of the state. The Emperor is pointing to a map lying at his feet, the map is featuring the words "Here will be St. Petersburg" in Cyrillic.
It was produced to mark the bicentenary of the birth of the great reformer.
