Paintings and Miniatures
Painting is rightfully considered the oldest art. Painting is divided into easel painting (pictures made with the help of an easel) and monumental one (wall painting).
The museum collection features paintings of Russian and Western European masters of the 18th – 20th centuries. Pictures by itinerant painter Vladimir Makovsky, and unique sketches by naïve painter Niko Pirosmani hold a special place in the Collection Museum.
