Letter-response of A.I. Charlemane to the request by M.A. Zichy for the correct arrangement and outfitting of the army with the description of the details of the formation and costume, during Zichy's work on the coronation album of Alexander III. Charlemagne A.I. (1826-1901) - painter of the battle and historical genre in the 19th century, academician. In 1871, he was a consultant in the imperial painting workshops while depicting military scenes for the albums of the Emperor Alexander II, in 1873 he received the title of the artist of His Imperial Majesty. Together with Zichy and other artists was a member of St. Petersburg artists’ coterie, the so-called "Fridays", organized in the late 1850s.
