Carving depicts a Kingfisher from lapis lazuli, eosite and agate. He perches atop a specimen of rock crystal quartz. The European Kingfisher can also be found in northern Africa and much of Asia. Its habitat is fresh water, especially where the water is calm and slow moving, and where tall riverbanks provide nesting sites.
