Seal carved from dark smoky quartz in the form of a faceted column, passing through a small neck to the circular matrix. The upper part of the seal is realised in the form of a smooth polished mushroom pileus, comfortable for pressing.

The Durnovo family coat of arms that is cut on the matrix, it is inscribed in the second volume of "The General Armorial of the Russian Empire Noble Families" (The General Armorial, part II, Volume I, p.43).
