Agate, aquamarine, sapphires, gold; carving, polishing

    Lenth 10 cm

The banded nature of the original agate specimen is utilized to show the gradations in the mouse's fur, particularly at the edges. The eyes are formed of sapphire cabochons, the tail is mounted with 18K yellow gold, as wall as the skates and whiskers. The suggestion of glacial waters of an icy pond is created by the wedge-shaped slice of aquamarine.
