    The 18th century caddy preserves the traditions of the 17th century art in its decorative design. In the Russian art history, the 18th century is closely connected with the process of Europeanisation. A miniature painting on enamel was became the symbol of innovation in the Russian enamel art of this period, which was perceived by contemporaries as an example of a new European tradition. Previous enamel techniques were considered provincial works.
    Top centers of production of such enamel works were Solvychegodsk and Velikiy Ustyug.

    Caddy with eight-faceted body tapering towards the narrow neck, with round screw cap. The whole surface of the caddy is covered with multi-colored enamel pattern. The body facets are decorated with alternating ornaments of fancy flowers and stylized rosettes on navy and blue background. The top and the bottom parts of the facets are ornated with yellow escalloped pattern with filigree circles of turquoise enamel. The facets of the neck are decorated with alternating ornaments of fancy flowers and triangles with a blue five-petal flower against navy and blue background. The cap features a rosette in the shape of a hexagram with seven filigree rings inside.

    The enamel colours are navy, blue, white, yellow and green.
