The snuffbox features a gold body of a rectangular shape with chamfered vertical edges and a hinged lid. The lid, the bottom, and the side panels of the body are decorated with alternating bands: gold ones with an ornament in the form of volutes and scrolls, and bands with a lattice of blue enamel stripes over a gold field, separated by stripes of white enamel. On the lid, there is a diamond-shaped miniature depicting, in polycrome en plein enamel, a girl in a white dress sitting on a hillock under trees, and a youth standing nearby, holding a rose wreath over her head. To the left, on the bank of a river surrounded by rocks and hills, there is a boat with an oar. The gaze of a dog at the youth's feet is directed at the cane in his hand. The miniature is enclosed in a frame with a golden ornament; the corners of the diamond are filled with a golden ornament in the form of rays radiating from the vertices of the angles on a field of blue enamel. Under the lid, there is a tobacco compartment with marks on the mirror-polished surface of the base and the lid. On the chamfered vertical edges, there is a foliate ornament on a golden matted ground within a border of white enamel.
