Stamped with the maker's mark "A.C." for an unidentified master; the "84" silver fineness mark; and a partially rubbed assay master's mark "N..." above the date "1826"
Silver snuff box with gilded interior, of rectangular form with rounded corners, featuring a hinged lid with a push-piece mechanism. The box is realistically modelled in the form of a travelling chest bound with straps, decorated on all sides and the base with niello architectural landscapes, and on the lid with a scene depicting a couple against ruins. The compositions on the lid and the base are enclosed within decorative foliate borders.
