A double agate snuffbox of semi-oval form, featuring two hinged lids with rope-twist thumb pieces, set on a rectangular two-color gold base. The body is fluted on both sides. The lids and the upper rim are enclosed in gold setting decorated with geometric patterns. Two-color gold ribbons are suspended from the setting on either side. The profiled base is further embellished with bands of geometric ornament.
