Tetrahedral pencil case with gold slider for the pencil refill lead made in the form of a pendent with an eyelet and a ring. The pencil facets are decorated with four enamel onlay ornately shaped shields below the crowns with the dates "1870-1871", "1787” with the monogram “E II" and images of the Russian cities coats of arms. Enamel inscriptions are on both sides of the facets’ surface: "П.П.ГРЕКЪ" and "ВОРОНЕЖСКО - РОСТОВСКОЙ Ж.Д.". The monogram "ГП" is on the upper flat end. The pencil case is embedded in the authentic box with the image of a crown on the upper lid.

This pencil case is presentational, and presumably can be attributed to the termination of one of the stages of constructing the Voronezh-Rostov railway that started in the summer of 1869. The road was supposed to connect Voronezh, namely the station Otrozhka (Razdelnaya) with Novocherkassk and Rostov (presently Rostov-on-Don). The railway road was placed in commission in two stages. The Otrozhka - Liski section closest to Voronezh was placed in commission on January 1, 1871. The Liski - Alexander-Grushevsk section (now the town of Shakhty and Shakhtnaya station) was opened on November 28, 1871. Further, up to the station Aksayskaya, the former Grushevskaya Railway track was used. The connection between the Aksayskaya station and the Rostov station was placed in commission much later - only in December 1876.
