Painted image of a peasant girl with a sheaf of hay in one hand and a sickle in the other is on the hinged lid. The miniature is framed by belts of geometric ornament of scanned rings with blue enamel and step figures on white background; a belt of floral ornament is on black background. The sides are decorated with eight-petalled rosettes located on black background, in square sections. A belt of scanned rings with turquoise enamel emphasizes the snuffbox upper and bottom edges.
