Maker's mark "CIP", city of Paris 1819-1838, three Paris assay marks
Gold rectangular snuffbox with rounded corners and sides and a hinged lid. Oval guilloche ornamented shell-shaped plaque is on the lid. The case is completely covered with embossed golden foliage ornament on matte background. The inscription "4 Mars 1823 / A Mercier / Les Grenadiers du 3eme Bon / de la 2eme Légion" is engraved on the cover inner side.
