Book-shaped gold rectangular snuffbox with a hinged lid. The lid and bottom are ornated with tortoiseshell panels with multicolored gold parfling in the form of flowers, ribbons, shells, curls and garlands, framed by chased foliage pattern. The book spine with rectangular tortoise color agate inserts. Is stored in green leather case with the inscription on the lid inner side: "By appointment to H.M. The Queen GOLDSMITHS 8- CROWN JEWELLERS GARRARD&CoLtd HR. REGENT STREET.W.L." (of later origin).
