Silver rectangular cigarette case, gilded inside, with rounded sides, comprised of two equal halves, connected by a hinge, with a snap closure. Enamel miniature depicting a harvesting couple walking along the road is in the oval medallion on the top lid. A girl is holding an empty woven box in her hands, designed to collect vegetables and fruits. A young man is wearing boots. The girl is barefooted. This fact indicates her unmarried status: by tradition, a husband presented boots to his wife only at the wedding, thus showing his financial prosperity and his ability to support the family. Champleve polychrome enamel geometrical ornament surrounds the miniature. The bottom lid is entirely covered with the engraved pattern of curls and leaves on turquoise enamel background with a smooth round medallion in the center. Silver button is in the snap shutter. The enamels’ colour scheme is based on the combinations of blue, turquoise, green, white, red, brown colours and their shades.
