Snuffbox in a gold rectangular case with rounded corners, with chased and engraved ornamentation and a hinged cover. A ribbon bow with long ends, polychrome painted enamel portrait of the King of Sardinia and the Count of Savoy Carlo Felice in a relief oval frame in a relief oval frame; an inscription "Souvenir" - on the lid, bordered by relief foliate ornament, in a rectangular frame on a repousse background. The King is depicted in the uniform with epaulettes, a blue ribbon across his right shoulder, with the distinction sign and star of the Order of the Holy Annunciation - the highest order of Savoy House and Italian Kingdom, founded in 1362 by the Count of Savoy Amadeo VI. The inner surface of the lid and tobacco compartment are mirror-polished, with the manufacturer's stamp. Guilloched field in a frame with relief ornamentation comprised of multicolour leaves and flowers is on the side and bottom panels.
The King of Sardinia and the Count of Savoy Carlo Felice (1765-1831) ruled in 1821-1831. The son of Victor Amadeus III of Sardinia (1726-1796) and Maria Antonia of Spain (1729-1785). His wife (from 1807) - Maria Christina (1779 - 1849), the daughter of King of the Two Sicilies Ferdinand I and Maria Carolina of Austria.
