Gold rectangular snuffbox with cut corners and a hinged lid. An oval plaque with an image of Erato, a muse of lyric poetry, composing a sonnet is on the lid. A Cupid is playing with a mask near Erato's feet. The image is framed by a thin blue line and a relief gold garland with ribbons. The body of the box, its lateral sides and the bottom are decorated with dark blue guilloche panels with the stylized palm leaves.
