Tortoise shell round snuffbox with a detachable lid. A mounted round yellow metal medallion with the portrait of the Emperor Alexander I (1777-1825), in profile, in a laurel wreath, in the style of Roman emperors images, round inscription 'ALEXANDER I. IMP. RUSSORUM'', the work of the French medallionist Nicola Brenet (1773-1846) by Dominique Vivant's drawing of Baron de Denon (1747-1825) is on the lid. This Medallion was made in 1814 in honour of the official visit of Alexander I to Paris.
