An oval silver-gilt tray featuring a pierced (pierced-work) border, two handles, rests on four feet. The tray flat surface (mirror) is engraved with a composite, marital coat of arms, depicting a pair of heraldic hounds supporting an impaled shield beneath a coronet. One half of the shield belongs to the Chetwynd-Talbot family, and the other to the Lambert family. The border of the tray is decorated with grapevine leaves and clusters. The C-scroll handles are adorned with bucrania at the terminals and a leopard's head at the center. The feet are fashioned as hocked goat legs surmounted by mascarons.
