A pair of gilt bronze campana vases with two side handles and a conical molded foot, mounted on a cuboid molded plinth. The lower part of the vase’s body is decorated with gadrooning and enriched with an applied frieze featuring alternating acanthus leaves and palmettes; a foliage frieze is above. The upper part of the body features a relief frieze with multi-figure composition depicting the sacrifice of Iphigenia from Euripides’ tragedy "Iphigenia in Aulis" (408–406 BC). The everted rim is decorated with a band of stylized egg-and-dart motifs; below the rim is an applied frieze depicting a grapevine with leaves and fruit. The U-shaped handles are fluted, bound in three places with leafing stems, and terminate in floral rosettes and stylized palmettes. The foot is fluted; its projecting sections are decorated with friezes of foliage ornament, egg-and-dart motifs, and a laurel wreath. The sides of the plinth are adorned with an applied relief wreath of grape clusters and leaves, enclosing the image of a kylix (a shallow, stemmed bowl with two serpent-shaped handles) filled with fruit. The projecting sections of the plinth are decorated with bands of foliage ornament, guilloche, and acanthus leaves within keel-shaped moldings.
