The body lower section is decorated with alternating fluted gadroons and wheat ears; the middle section features a relief composition depicting Bacchus returning in triumph and encountering the sleeping Ariadne; the upper section is adorned with a grapevine frieze of leaves and fruit. The flared rim is decorated with a band of egg-and-dart and bead-and-reel patterns. The handles are fashioned as cornucopias overflowing with fruit. The feet feature half-figures of atlantes at the top, ending in lion's paws at the bottom. The base is adorned at the edge with two friezes of foliate ornament
