A porcelain jug in the form of an askos, smoothly transitioning into an elongated, asymmetrical neck with a prominent pouring spout. The vessel is enhanced by a shaped handle that naturalistically imitates a branch of red coral. The upper part of the body (the neck and sloping shoulders) is covered with a continuous, delicate gold pattern of the "gold carpet" (dorure au tapis) type, featuring motifs of small flowers and intertwining vegetal shoots. The rim of the neck is emphasized by a molded, gilded border. The lower part of the body is sculpted in relief to resemble a scallop shell with an undulating edge, painted in pinkish-purple tones. The jug rests on a low, ring-shaped foot ring entirely covered in gilding.
