The vase in the shape of a bowl on a short stem and round base is made of milk glass. The bowl rim and the stem base are trimmed with bronze.

Clouded glass with milky appearance became popular from late 1810’s-early 1820’s. The interior scenes of the tsar's palaces were decorated with small exquisite bronze-trimmed vases, that were reminding the antiquie forms of the Renaissance period.
