Height 14.5 cm; diameter 17.0 cm
Bowl-shaped vase on low stem with "apple" waist and base of transparent colorless crystal. The bowl and stem are octahedral, processed with wide polished facet. The inscription in the stylized "Old Russian" font «ЗАБАВА» is on one of the bowl facets ornamented in matte engraving technique. The octagonal base rear side is decorated with fine brilliant cutting. The vase is part of a set created for the private sailing yacht of Grand Duke Alexei Alexandrovich (1850-1908), the fourth son of Emperor Alexander II, beloved brother of the future Emperor Alexander III. |
